What are your oral health care routine strengths and weaknesses? Would you say that some areas of your oral health care are strong while others may fall a bit behind and need improvement? The truth is, no matter how great your oral health may be, there is usually always something we could be doing to protect your teeth and gums more and give us the greatest chance for a flawless smile.

Do you always make sure to floss and brush your teeth daily? Ideally, you should brush your teeth at least 2 times a day and floss at least 1 times a day. In addition, it is recommended to use supplemental cleaners such as mouthwash after meals if required. When eating, never eat snacks between meals as this can increase your risk for tooth decay and gum disease. Additionally, always eat a healthy and balanced diet.

When playing any high contact sports or high-risk activities, have a risk assessment of your teeth and gums and wear safety equipment if necessary. The safer your mouth is the better off you will be protected should the worst occur. For bad habits such as smoking and chewing tobacco and using drugs, eliminate them immediately from your life.
